so they can get pennies on the dollar now or wait a bit and maybe get less come the deadline. Feel bad for Dorian and Ottawa fans.
Maybe if they could lock up Stone and Duchene, EK might re-consider. |

How about you just chill for one day and wait until there's actually something related to Karlsson instead of making up rumors for advertising traffic?
We can be here for weeks at this point, even an entire season with no deal. |

Probably right. I think they should reset the clock and take serious offers for Stone. He might actually get you the best return. EK is only a matter of time and probably the same for Duchene.
Start over with Tkachuk, Chabot, Ceci (if you can get him signed), White, Brown, Gusto etc. Plus what you get with the return of trading those players.
There pick in 2019 is what it is now, but they should at least net one back through trade. |

So if a good rental player nets you the obligatory first-round draft pick plus top prospect plus roster player then what does a generational/top five at his position hockey player net you?
This is unprecedented in the NHL. The only thing comparable to it is Tavares and they had to keep the Tavares. Where Ottawa is actively shopping their best player... and arguably the best player at his position.
It kills me if neither Dallas North Tampa are willing to get rid of their top defensive prospects to get EK.
And and if Ottawa loses all three of their best players in the next year look out. The fanbase will not come back and the team will move from Ottawa very shortly thereafter. Which part of me thinks is the League's desire anyways.
The perception of a Lame duck owner is killing us. |

good rentals don't get this. a 1st, b-prospect and some other throw-in.
karlsson's price as a pure rental should be close to kovalchuk's....if it gets to that point.

Does not help that reports indicate that he is only willing to accept an extension with Tampa so far. Funny though, for a one year rental, I could really see Toronto paying a decent price.....a first rd, a NHL ready player, and a high end prospect, but we all know that would NEVER happen. BUT I am always one to believe....take the best offer, regardless of the team

I think this has nothing to do with trade offers. Karlsson has made it known he would like to stay. But, there is no option for this if Melnyk stays on as owner. I think (a guess) that both groups trying to buy the team have made it known they would prefer for Karlsson to stay and Melnyk is trying to preserve that option. |

You keep clinging to this "white knight" theory that someone is gonna swoop in and save the sens. There isnt one. Eugene isnt selling amd has made that crystal clear. Move on just like karlsson is going to. |

from a source, "Tampa holds 95% of the cards and they know it. Hedman knows that Karlsson will come there as a UFA and the team won't have to give up a thing..."

Are they playing Go Fish or Uno?
Because if so, Ottawa has a huge advantage. |

zaitsev or gardiner or dermott or carrick + timashov + 1st for karlsson straight up and we're done here. - The Deal Man
Zaitsev at this point is a liability, not an asset. |
